i'm having difficulty with my next speech

I swear I have a lot of examples for this one. But I just don't know how to make everything into one. And I have to work on not crying tears of anguish from everything.

And you know how you’re going to have uniforms? That still doesn’t make everyone equal. Because your mom is going to cut your corduroys too short and kids you don’t even know will start calling you ‘Highwaters’, and kids you used to know will point out your house so everyone can scream it at your door.

I think the problem is that people ignore the business cycle. They don't remember that there will be falls. They think the world can only change in ways that improve the standard of living instead of completely plunging.

We've lived such a rigidly constructed life with no compromise. It's mom and dad working minimum in order to reap government benefits and avoid paying more for anything. It's going to school and pushing back requirements because you expect summer school to be there for you. It's not being allowed to work, because then you'll be greedy and quit school, and also because then you'll have to pay taxes and then you'll get less financial aid. It's get into one of the top-ranked UCs, take out some student loans, don't work until the middle of graduate school.

Now your dad's unemployed, the state is proposing deeper cuts to the education system, your school, which so many other schools in the area are dependent on for summer school (so much that summer school is usually more crowded) will only accept those students who 'really need' it AKA students who don't care for it at all, the college that you've depended on for concurrent enrollment has canceled the more convenient session, your mom thinks it's okay for you to get you a job -- but wait, she said it too late and now all the deadline's passed, Cal Grants are in danger of being slashed so now even your college brother will be affected. So now you can't make up those C's to impress those UC's with your UC GPA, you can't take that art requirement during summer, and even if you get into the college of your dreams, you won't be able to afford it.

What's the point? Drop out, work full time, don't go crazy, save up, when the economy stabilizes, go back to school more aware and independent. If only....
